About Us

Electronic Product Architects

3Point1 Developments came about as a fusion between three existing companies. We recognise a gap in the market for enterprise new product development, where the client can directly speak with a competent individual with real power within the organisation. Too many companies put faith in customer experience managers, or hide the detail away from clients. We think new product development should be a shared experience, and the client should be able to understand as much of the process as desired

Our philosophy

We believe enterprise new product development has taken a turn for the worse. We have been involved in discussions with clients where something has become opaque. We have seen evidence of information being held back, to massage an ego or to hide some unpleasant truth. Regardless of the motivation, this is rarely in the client’s interest. We believe it can be done better. We believe the client’s interest is always served through radical openness. All surprises during development are unpleasant – that’s why we want to be open with you at every stage. Bad news does not improve with age.

Because surprises are unpleasant, we include contingency in our planning. We know the unexpected will happen. Clients know it will happen. Omitting contingency can make the price more attractive, but it’s only denying truth. Realism and professionalism both demand we include contingency when enterprises come calling. It’s one of the hallmarks distinguishing the amateurs from the professionals.

We believe in management having control of the process. Quality management is a key element in running the business. It helps us keep control over delivery of our service. It helps us maintain an appropriate quality level for whatever our customers desire. The key here is “appropriate”. Not all customers will require an ISO13485-compliant requirements traceability matrix, for example. But for those clients who do, we will include this in our planning.

Our history

3Point1 Developments was founded in 2022. With expertise in product design, electronic design and software development, each separate company knew the difficulties of getting new products to market, and had separately experienced the pitfalls. We all agreed a new approach, emphasizing openness and transparency, would be a breath of fresh air in the market.

“Effective communication is at the core of our ethos enabling the best outcomes to be achieved.”
